The FEAST project concluded on 30 June 2012. A new bilateral project is currently in the final stages of negotiation with the European Commission (EC) to continue to support Australian-European research cooperation. The EC has agreed in principle to co-fund a project known as ‘Connecting Australian-European Science and Innovation Excellence’ (CAESIE) involving Australian and European partners. Matching support will be provided by the Australian partners led by the Department of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research and Tertiary Education. It is anticipated that CAESIE will commence in October 2012.
CAESIE aims to foster new innovative collaborations between researchers, small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs), and other innovation actors from both Europe and Australia. CAESIE will also provide a forum for Australian participation in Horizon 2020, which will replace the 7th Framework Programme (FP7) of the EC in 2014.
A CAESIE website will replace the current FEAST website later this year. Further information will be provided on this page as soon as it becomes available.
During the interim period support for Australian involvement in FP7 can be obtained from Australia’s official FP7 National Contact Points (cordis.europa.eu/fetch?CALLER=FP7NCP_THIRD&QM_CCY_D=AU).
