The Australian Innovation Community

This website is a collaborative resource dedicated to the Australian Innovation Community. As such, it's open to anyone interested in contributing to bringing innovators together and sharing information between them.

Much of the content here is freely available to anyone visiting the website. In order to contribute fully though, you'll need to create a username for use on the site, then log in. This is a relatively straightforward process with plenty of instructions to help you along, so there's probably no need to read any further. However, if you'd like to know exactly what's going to happen, here are the steps in the process.

1. Click on the "Create a new login" link in the right-hand sidebar
• This will take you to a page headed "User account".
2. Enter your First and Last names, and an email address you'd like associated with the account, and click the "Request new account" button
• This will take you to the front page of the site, and display the message "Your password and further instructions have been sent to your e-mail address" in green near the top. It will also send out a "confirmation" email to your chosen email address. (Note that it's possible that this email might get trapped in a Spam Filter on your email account. If it seems to be taking more than five or ten minutes to arrive, check your filters or try creating another login with a different email address.)
3. Wait for this email (titled "The account has been created for you at The Australian Innovation Community") to arrive. When it does, click the "one-time link" near the top. (Note that you will have to do this within 24 hours or the link will expire.)
• This will take you to a page headed "Reset password".
4. Click the "Log in" button
• This will take you to a page headed with your new username, which will take the form "Firstname.Surname".
5. Change your password to something you'll be able to remember, by entering your new password into the boxes labelled "Password" and "Confirm password", then clicking the "Submit" button. (You might also take a moment to set your "Time zone" in the drop-down menu near the bottom of the page.)
• This will update your password, and will take you to your user profile (still headed with your username), displaying the message "The changes have been saved." in green near the top.

Once you're logged in, you'll see a number of new menu options (such as "Create content") in the lower section of the left-hand sidebar. You can use these to contribute to the site in a number of ways.

However, if you close your browser or choose to log out using the using the "AussieInnovation.com Logout" link in the right-hand sidebar, you'll need to log back in again later, as follows.

1. Click the "Login to AussieInnovation.com" link in the right-hand sidebar
• This will take you to a page headed "AussieInnovation.com Single Sign-On"
2. Enter your username (aka "NetID") and your password in the appropriate boxes, then click on the "Login" button
• This will log you into the site, and return you to the front page again and display the message "Logged in via CAS as (your username)", in green.

Feel free to stay logged-in to the site for as long as you like.
