Overview
This submission argues the importance of a broadband infrastructure in Queensland, particularly in the areas of education and health.
It also highlights four concerns regarding current Commonwealth initiatives in this area:
- The development of monopolies
- Unnecessary investment in duplicating the existing fibre-optic network
- The mechanisms for subsidising low-profit rural areas
- The level of consulation with State Government and local organisations
