Abstract
“This submission from the Internet Business Solutions Group, Cisco Systems to the Review of the National Innovation System in Australia confronts some of the threshold questions that shape how we think about innovation in the first place. It introduces the concept of an open, connected innovation community operating on a much larger and more inclusive scale than at present, fueled by an ethic of connection and collaboration that tests the assumptions and performance of some of the traditional, institutional models on which we have relied in the past.
“From this fundamental reframing, much of the detail about how a connected innovation community might work in practice can be developed. For now, we should consider how we think about innovation in the first place.”
