“I believe the main challenges facing innovators are as follows:

1. Cultural and behavioural problems within innovative groups
2. Barriers to IP protection (Patent costs – filing, drafting and defending)
3. Emphasis on particular subjects taught to engineering students
4. Poor auditing of student performance against the expected outcomes
5. Barriers to international expansion”
