Overview
This submission has one core idea: Australia should re-engage with the Intelligent Manufacturing Systems (IMS) Scheme. This is an international R&D consortia which provides a framework for industry and academia to cooperate at every stage of innovation, which, according to the submission, helps share the cost and risk of projects.
The current members of the IMS scheme are the European Union (represented by the European Commission), Japan, the Republic of Korea, Switzerland, and the USA.
